These transparency features, the absence of latency, and multiprotocol service support are reflected in each of the FTX cards that act as interfaces in the DUSAC family.
Fibernet presents the FTX-100G card, a highly flexible multiprotocol interface that expands the DUSAC family of cards, being compatible with the DUSAC 4800 and DUSAC 350 series. This new Fibernet FTX card maintains all the functionalities of the DUSAC family and provides greater versatility in terms of supported protocols, as it enables the transport of any service up to 100 Gbps through a single interface.
The card, which supports the 100GbEthernet and OTU4 protocols, features two pluggable interfaces, one for the client side and one for the line side, each of which can function as either the local or remote side. The card maintains compatibility in terms of optical and management characteristics to operate with the other interfaces in the DUSAC family. Its robust design, with features and capabilities appropriate for operation, minimizes maintenance on the DWDM network. It also adds features that enable improved operation of the customer services it transports.

FTX channel interfaces are optical transponders. Each supports a bidirectional digital user channel. They connect to the user equipment on one side (local port) and to the optical FMD (MUX/DEMUX) module on the other (line or remote port). Both local and remote ports are located on the front of the card. The local connection type is adapted to the client interface connected to it (LR-4, ER-4, SR-10, etc.). The line interfaces are configurable and will be adapted to the engineering requirements of each project (coherent modules for long distances, LR-10, ZR-4, ER-4, LR-4, etc.).

Some of the features and functionalities of the FTX-100G cards are:
• Diagnostic support measures: BERT, logic loops, etc.
• Measurement of transmitted and received power levels on local and line ports
• Power threshold alarms
• Full monitoring of pluggable modules
• Software-based protocol configuration
• Inclusion of coherent detection modules for long-distance coverage
• Compatibility with tunable laser line modules
• Low power consumption
• Metro, long-haul, and data center applications
• Option to include FEC
• 1:1 protection types in DWDM network configurations with path protection and 1+1 (TWIN protection) with another identical card
