The new SN-DTA and SN4120 product lines expand the existing SmartNode ranges with NT/TE ports, adding new features such as support for lower-cost voice services via PSTN and a high-precision clock that simplifies interoperability between VoIP and DECT, PBX, and FAX. Patton is thus introducing new models with improved value to replace the S-DTA, SN4552, and SN4554 devices, which will eventually be discontinued.

New port combinations: Routers with a single TE port (SN4120/1BIS2V) and with a dual port (SN-DTA/2BIS4V) complete the BRI SmartNode product portfolio, providing cost-effective solutions for applications intended for specialized customers.

High Precision Clock: The dual-port models, SN-DTA/2BIS4V, include Patton's high precision clock (<5 ppm) which enables IP telephony connection at the highest level (including fax and modem services) within the demands of ISDN and DECT environments.

In addition, the SN-DTA/2BIS4V models offer a backup port that keeps the device always connected to the ISDN environment, in case a line is removed or the port is not used.

“The ISDN market demands exceptional service quality,” says Bernhard Fluehmann, Product Manager for IP Converged at Patton. “ISDN users are very demanding, and our SmartNode range has a strong reputation for meeting their high-quality requirements. With our extensive portfolio of BRI VoIP routers, we cover the needs of all ISDN communication providers, who in turn satisfy their customers.”
The company recently expanded its router portfolio, adding three new models that allow businesses, integrators, and distributors to choose the ideal and most cost-effective solution for their network infrastructure and business processes, enabling them to further their business strategy. Also noteworthy are the IBM Sametime and Microsoft OCS certifications that Patton SmartNode products have earned this year.

Patton's ASAP (Any Service, Any Port) capabilities enable WAN services across all current industrial telephony standards. SmartNode™ is scalable from 2 to 120 VoIP or fax calls and supports SIP, H.323, and ISDN protocols over simultaneous TDM/PSTN and IP/Ethernet networks.
