Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX14821, the industry's smallest IO-Link® physical layer (PHY) transceiver. Housed in a 2.5 mm x 2.5 mm WLP package, the MAX14821 saves up to 60% more space compared to other devices on the market, facilitating minimal footprint designs. It is optimized for point-to-point communication between industrial controllers and sensor/actuator modules.
Designed to support the latest IO-Link standards, the MAX14821 supports data transmission speeds of 4.8 kbps (COM1), 38.4 kbps (COM2), and 230.4 kbps (COM3). It also supports 24 V binary sensor/actuator applications.
It is supplied in 2.5 mm x 2.5 mm WLP and 4 mm x 4 mm 4-pin TQFN packages. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
