ETERNUS AF S2 all-flash storage
They are equipped with larger caches, faster processors, 32 GB Fibre Channel technology, and algorithms optimized for multi-threaded and multi-core processors. The ETERNUS AF250 S2¹ and AF650 S2² maximize all-flash performance for applications that demand the highest storage speeds. With a 30% performance improvement over the S1 generation, they enable businesses to consolidate their storage systems, support rapid data growth, and deliver short, reliable data response times for mission-critical business and analytics applications, such as SAP HANA, thereby improving user experience and application speed.
In the mid-range, the ETERNUS AF650 S2 offers approximately 3 PB of raw data capacity per system in a footprint of only half a data center rack. It delivers high IOPS performance and minimal latency, with a cost-performance ratio of $0.27/SPC-1 IOPS™, based on the latest SPC3 benchmark results published on January 19, 2018. The ETERNUS AF250 S2 is an ideal all-flash solution for small and medium-sized businesses, thanks to its low cost-performance ratio of $0.10/SPC-1 IOPS™. Both models support new types of solid-state drives (SSDs), which will be released later in 2018, further increasing maximum storage capacity.
ETERNUS DX S4, mid-range hybrid systems,
allow businesses to consolidate as much structured and unstructured data as possible onto a single storage system that houses both SSDs and hard drives. The ETERNUS DX500 S4 and DX600 S4 optimize hybrid storage capabilities to balance speed, capacity, and cost. Fujitsu has redesigned both new models to achieve a 30% performance increase at the SSD level, while high-capacity hard drives enable organizations to store unstructured data at the lowest cost. Intelligent automation features eliminate the administrative burden of managing multiple storage tiers by allocating bandwidth and storage based on the response time required per data volume. Furthermore, thanks to the strong performance of the SSD tier, the ETERNUS DXS4 family provides a secure path for businesses to gradually migrate from disk and flash to all-flash storage, all within a single system.
All new Fujitsu ETERNUS DX and AF storage systems support flexible data deduplication and compression, giving businesses even more options to meet their individual storage and budget requirements. All existing and new ETERNUS DX and AF systems are managed by a single management software: ETERNUS SF. Nearly all models can duplicate and replicate data between systems and even enable transparent failover. This functionality also works across older and newer generations of systems, offering maximum investment protection. Organizations can use a hybrid system for recovery from all-flash arrays, reducing business continuity costs.
