Higher transfer rates and capacity allow compatibility with higher resolution camera streams to meet evolving surveillance data compliance regulations.
The MD06ACA-V series is designed for 24/7 streaming operation scenarios and is commonly used for digital surveillance video recorders (SDVRs), surveillance network video recorders (SNVRs), and hybrid SDVRs. The MD06ACA-V series features a 7200 RPM access speed. The 10TB model offers a 58 percent increase in maximum sustained transfer rate compared to Toshiba's previous MD04ABA-V series, reaching up to 237 MB/s. Available in 6TB, 8TB, and 10TB capacities, the new models provide a 6Gb/s SATA interface with a 256 MB dynamic buffer. Additionally, the MD06ACA-V models support Advanced Format (512e) technology for compatibility with legacy applications and operating environments.
"The incorporation of rotational vibration compensation technology provides optimal disk performance in multi-bay configurations and superior reliability with a mean time to failure (MTTF) of one million hours using a conventional mechanical design," says Noriaki Katakura, General Manager of Toshiba Electronics Europe, HDD Business Unit. "This third generation of surveillance HDDs offers the capacity, performance, and reliability required for higher-resolution surveillance video streams and increased content retention requirements."
Samples of the HD0 MD06ACA-V series are now available.
