Ootbi Mini is available in 8, 16, and 24 terabyte (TB) capacities and offers the enterprise-level security, simplicity, and power of Object First in a desktop tower that doesn't require a traditional data center.

Based on Zero Trust principles, Ootbi (Out-of-the-Box Immutability) Mini offers absolute immutability, meaning that no one, not even an administrator, can alter the firmware, operating system, storage layer, or backup data. Ootbi Mini has the same ransomware-proof data protection, intuitive user interface, and seamless Veeam integration as existing Ootbi products, requiring no specialized security expertise. Ootbi Mini is available as a CapEx purchase or a consumption-based subscription. It is available for pre-order now, with deliveries beginning in January 2026.

Object First has also announced:
• Honeypot: For the early detection of cyber threats targeting Veeam Backup and Replication (VBR), Object First has introduced Ootbi Honeypot in version 1.7. With just two clicks, Honeypot deploys a decoy VBR environment in a securely segmented part of Ootbi, which acts as a decoy space. If any suspicious activity is detected, Honeypot immediately sends alerts through the customer's preferred channel. Honeypot is available at no cost to existing Ootbi customers using version 1.7.

• Fleet Manager Beta Program: Object First has announced a beta program for Ootbi Fleet Manager, a cloud-based application that allows customers to monitor all their Ootbi products from a single dashboard. Fleet Manager offers customized cluster organization, with detailed monitoring and reporting for Ootbi devices. Users can view a complete breakdown of their footprint, including hardware status and utilization. Existing customers interested in participating in the beta program can sign up here.

“Organizations using Veeam can benefit from storage solutions that combine immutability, simplicity, and resilience,” said Phil Goodwin, vice president of research at IDC. “With Ootbi Mini, Honeypot, and Fleet Manager, Object First expands its ransomware-proof product portfolio to meet these needs for businesses of all sizes.”

“Our mission is to make ransomware-proof backups simple, powerful, and accessible to all Veeam users,” said David Bennett, CEO of Object First. “With the launch of Ootbi Mini, any organization, regardless of location, can enjoy enterprise-grade immutability in a small footprint. Our new Honeypot feature takes cyber resilience a step further by providing IT teams with early warnings of cyber threats, while Fleet Manager simplifies how customers can monitor and manage their Ootbi deployments. Together, these innovations reinforce our commitment to delivering a secure, simple, and resilient backup solution for Veeam customers.”
