QNAP® Systems, Inc. introduces the TVS-1582TU, a pioneering 19-inch rackmount Thunderbolt™ 3 NAS ideal for outdoor AV editing environments and mobile TV/satellite vehicles.

The TVS-1582TU includes four Thunderbolt™ 3 ports, two 10GbE ports, and can utilize its Thunderbolt 3 ports for USB-C 3.1 Gen2 (10 Gbps) connections for high-speed data transfer and backups. This array of high-speed connections provides an ideal 4K solution for outdoor video editing environments and mobile TV/satellite vehicles in today's fast-paced multimedia industry.

The TVS-1582TU, equipped with a 7th generation Intel® Core™ i5 or Core™ i7 quad-core processor, offers high-bandwidth Thunderbolt 3 along with 10GbE connectivity to enhance multimedia collaboration as a triple Thunderbolt/NAS/iSCSI solution capable of multitasking. Thunderbolt-enabled Mac® and Windows® users can leverage it for 4K workflows, high-speed file storage, and sharing. With QNAP's innovative Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet (T2E) technology, computers without Ethernet ports can access 10GbE network resources via a Thunderbolt connection to the TVS-1582TU for flexible and cost-effective data transfer methods.
The TVS-1582TU is a 15-bay hybrid storage solution that supports both 3.5-inch hard drives and 2.5-inch SSDs in a single unit. With Qtier™ technology driving automated tiered storage, the TVS-1582TU optimizes storage efficiency through high-performance SSDs and high-capacity SATA drives with enhanced performance to power dynamic high-resolution multimedia and virtualization applications. The TVS-1582TU supports 4K @30Hz via HDMI output for direct multimedia viewing. The TVS-1582TU,
along with the QTS 4.3 operating system, offers an all-in-one NAS solution for storage, backup/restore, sharing, remote access, and data management. Advanced professional applications include: QRM+ (QNAP Remote Manager Plus) centralized management solution for discovering, mapping, monitoring, and managing critical network devices (including servers, PCs, and thin clients) with a graphical topology diagram; and Virtualization Station, which hosts virtual machines based on Windows, Linux®, UNIX®, and Android™ on the NAS. Container Station enables virtually unlimited containerized LXC and Docker® applications and IoT development; Qfiling and Qsirch optimize data storage operations through automatic file organization and fast file search.
The TVS-1582TU has a raw capacity of up to 90 TB (using 10 TB 3.5-inch hard drives) and can be expanded by connecting up to six QNAP Thunderbolt expansion enclosures (TX-800P or TX-500P) or one QNAP USB expansion enclosure (UX-1200U-RP, UX-800U-RP, UX-800P, or UX-500P). Storage capacity can also be expanded using VJBOD (Virtual JBOD), which leverages unused storage capacity from other QNAP NAS devices, providing a reliable, high-capacity storage solution for the growing volume of high-resolution media files.
