“Our new solutions are designed to help small and medium-sized businesses improve their performance and storage capacity securely and scalably,” explains Victor Wang, General Manager of Synology for Southern Europe. “When combined with the new features of Synology C2, these devices will allow businesses to protect their files from any threat while simultaneously streamlining daily workflows.”

Synology FS2500: A comprehensive storage platform for SMEs

drive FS2500 is designed to deliver maximum performance for applications requiring fast, low-latency storage, including virtual machines and post-production projects. Its compact form factor offers twelve 2.5-inch SATA bays, providing ample capacity and simplifying installation.

“The new FS2500 model responds to the growing demand for distributed computing,” says Julien Chen, product manager at Synology. “Its small size makes it a versatile solution that can be deployed in mobile applications or at the edge.”

The drive offers a performance of over 170,000/82,000 4K, and has two 10GbE ports compatible with 10/25GbE expansion.

The FS2500 runs on the Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system. It is designed for complete reliability and easy maintenance. Intelligent storage features, such as automatic drive repair, storage deduplication, and snapshots, along with remote backup capabilities, ensure data and service availability anytime, anywhere.

Enterprise-grade SSD drives for Synology servers

Synology launched its first SSDs last year to meet increasingly stringent requirements for reliability and sustained performance. Synology's SSD range has proven to be a dependable solution for powering IT operations in a variety of demanding scenarios.

“Continuous supply chain disruptions have led suppliers to swap components. For end users, this can mean leaving a lot to chance when it comes to the specifications of the products they receive. This is not the case with our SSDs, as rigorous testing and validation processes ensure optimal performance with our own systems,” explains Julien Chen.

Synology units have been designed to ensure complete integration of Synology hardware and software, bringing new features and optimizations that would otherwise have been impossible.

Lifetime analytics are based on real-world workloads, providing IT teams with more accurate and convenient insights. Future drive firmware updates will also be delivered directly through Synology DSM to minimize disruption.

1. Data deduplication is only available on select models and only for Btrfs volumes composed of Synology SSDs. See this page for more information.
2. Performance may vary depending on firmware, system configuration, and test setup. (SAT5210-960G) Performance was measured using FIO on Linux with a queue depth of 32 (4 KB = 4096 bytes). (SNV3410/SNV3510) Performance was measured using FIO on Linux with a queue depth of 256 (4 KB = 4096 bytes).
3. 5 years or based on the SSD Lifetime SMART indicators (displayed in DSM > Storage Manager), whichever comes first.
