"The new DS923+ NAS provides users with impressive performance and capabilities for its size," explains Clara Sauri, Product Manager in Spain for Synology. "Thanks to its ability to easily expand storage and networks, it adapts as the needs of businesses and users grow."
The DS923+ can serve as the primary storage and data protection solution for homes and small offices, and also as an edge node for multi-site deployments. It offers over 50 TB of storage capacity in its compact 4-bay configuration and can easily scale to over 120 TB across 9 drives by connecting a DX517 expansion unit.
Sequential read/write performance of up to 625/559 MB/s makes file operations fast and efficient. Users can further enhance this performance by utilizing its 10 GbE network connection and adding NVMe M.2 SSDs via the integrated PCIe slot. This enables fast caching and allows for the creation of additional flash storage blocks.
For remote teams and businesses operating across multiple locations, cross-location file synchronization enables content mirroring across Synology devices. Synology Drive offers intuitive file management and sharing features, combining convenient remote access with the privacy and 100% data ownership of on-premises storage.
The device allows users to utilize high-performance local storage while simultaneously reducing footprint by leveraging hybrid cloud technology. Synology Hybrid Share efficiently stores data in the cloud and caches frequently accessed files on the device, making them accessible at LAN speeds.
Multi-layered backup:
Ensuring that critical or sensitive data is always protected against emerging cybersecurity threats is essential to prevent the irreversible loss of valuable information. The Active Backup Suite offered by the DS923+ allows you to back up your IT infrastructure, such as Windows and Linux systems, Hyper-V/VMware virtual machines, and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace accounts, directly to the DS923+ and easily restore them when needed.
To increase redundancy, backups and snapshots of data stored on the NAS at a specific point in time can also be created and sent off-site to another server or cloud service.
Compact Surveillance Server:
The device can also serve as a complete video management system with full local data ownership. Synology's Surveillance Station solution is a powerful VMS that currently protects over 500,000 sites. Flexible ONVIF compatibility and support for over 8,300 validated IP cameras make deployment simple and easily adaptable to the requirements of each location.
Surveillance Station simplifies the setup and management of up to 40 cameras with a modern, customizable interface. For larger or multi-building environments, the option to overlay floor plans and Google Maps or OpenStreetMap maps provides maximum situational awareness. Important footage can be retained to enhance resilience with support for recording server backup, multi-device management, and even support for simultaneous, end-to-end encrypted dual recording to the Synology C2 cloud.
Availability: Synology DS923+ is available from today, November 16, through the company's partners and distributors worldwide.
