Currently, these new Smart Wi-Fi access points are the only ones with the dual-band 802.11ac standard for indoor and outdoor use capable of integrating Ruckus' patented BeamFlex+™ technology for optimal performance and interference mitigation in challenging RF environments. They also incorporate ChannelFly™ channel management technology for predictive channel selection based on real-time capacity analysis of all RF channels. The new ZoneFlex T300 Series outdoor access points also boast the smallest size and lightest weight in the industry.
The Ruckus ZoneFlex R500 (2.4/5 GHz) 2x2:2 802.11ac dual-band access point is designed to provide high-quality wireless connectivity in medium-density networks in mid-sized businesses, hotels, or warehouses. The ZoneFlex R500 is also an excellent access point for retail deployment, providing reliable wireless connectivity for video, cordless IP phones, and barcode scanner data access at point-of-sale (POS) systems.
The Ruckus ZoneFlex R600 (2.4/5 GHz) 3x3:3 dual-band 802.11ac access point delivers even greater performance with additional spatial MIMO transmission. It is ideal for high- and medium-density deployments in locations with many users, such as businesses, branch offices, and retail outlets, especially those serving areas with three spatial transmissions. The ZoneFlex R600 is also perfectly suited for interactive classrooms and university campus networks.
The new ZoneFlex R500 and R600 are fully functional when powered by standard power through an 802.3af Ethernet (PoE) switch, eliminating costly upgrades. Their sleek designs are easy to conceal and offer a variety of mounting options. Additional features include dual-band support for concurrent access to the Internet and IP-based video services; wired ports for easy connection to laptops, VoIP phones, cash registers, printers, and other business devices; and multiple SSIDs for differentiated user services (e.g., guest Wi-Fi, POS, voice).
The new ZoneFlex T300e and T301s are very lightweight and ultra-compact. The ZoneFlex T300e and T301s are significantly lighter than other outdoor 802.11ac access points, weighing just 0.9 kg and 1 kg respectively, including the BeamFlex antennas. They also have overall dimensions, including their internal antennas, of 15cm x 18cm x 8.6cm for the ZoneFlex T300e, and 19.5cm x 23.9cm x 11cm for the ZoneFlex T301s. This means they are among the smallest outdoor 802.11ac access points on the market. Their weight and size are important requirements for many outdoor Wi-Fi applications where aesthetics or minimal visual impact are necessary.
The ZoneFlex T300e is well-suited for high-density outdoor deployments. It includes all the features of the T300 model and offers the ability to connect a wide variety of external 5 GHz antennas for greater deployment flexibility. It is ideal for mounting on poles, street corners, and rooftops, and in situations where access points are far from antennas or where the AP requires custom RF coverage.
The ZoneFlex T301s is similar to the T301n model in terms of features, and has an adaptive antenna specifically designed to provide better coverage and 120-degree sector capability. The T301s is suitable for pole and exterior wall mounting.
Both models are specifically designed to withstand harsh environments, with IP-67 water and dust resistance, operating in temperatures from -20 to 55 degrees Celsius, and winds up to 165 mph. Both are also easy to install and allow for co-location operation with distributed antenna systems (DAS) and small cell radios.
The four new Ruckus access points also feature Power over Ethernet (PoE) 802.3af, support up to 500 clients each, and can function as a standalone AP, or be centrally managed by a Ruckus ZoneDirector™ controller, Ruckus SmartCell™ Gateway (SCG) 200 or virtual SmartCell Gateway (vSCG) for maximum scalability.
All of these new access points also support Ruckus Smart Wireless services for maximum flexibility and deployment management options. These cloud-based Smart Wi-Fi technologies include: the Ruckus Smart Positioning Technology (SPoT™) service, the first cloud-based location-based smart positioning (LBS) service; the Smart Access Management Service (SAMs) that enhances public Wi-Fi hotspots; and the Ruckus virtual SmartCell Gateway (vSCG), the first carrier-grade Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) solution for mobile network operators (MNOs), multi-system operators (MSOs), managed service providers (MSPs), and enterprises designed to streamline the creation of highly scalable and flexible cloud-based wireless LAN (WLAN) services.
