Installing this adapter simply requires connecting it to a USB 3.0 port on laptops or desktops running Windows. The device has integrated drivers and will be recognized as a new Wi-Fi adapter. Connecting to a Wi-Fi 6 network will easily confirm that the connection is established using the Wi-Fi 6 protocol with a speed of 1200 Mbps, as it is a dual-band device, offering 1200 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 574 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. Furthermore, the default encryption protocol is WPA3, which enhances security. It is also backward compatible with USB versions such as 2.0 and 1.1, but bandwidth will be reduced in those cases due to limitations of those protocols.

Another advantage of Wi-Fi 6 is that it also operates on the 2.4 GHz band (the previous Wi-Fi 5 only activated on the 5 GHz band, dropping to Wi-Fi N on 2.4 GHz connections). Since the 2.4 GHz band is more efficient over long distances, this results in a significant performance increase in many cases. Furthermore, Wi-Fi 6 incorporates MU-MIMO uplink/downlink (the last version, Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2, also integrated MU-MIMO, but only for downlink), which, along with OFDMA and 1024-QAM modulation (compared to 256-QAM in Wi-Fi 5), considerably reduces latency and increases throughput and capacity.
