Users can view the real-time location of their test and measurement equipment from anywhere in the world. The service, which utilizes state-of-the-art IoT technology, is already available to all Electro Rent customers, with a growing number of telecom operators/subcontractors, energy installers, and industrial subcontractors among the first to adopt it. In particular, the device's integrated communication facilitates data transmission via the cellular network. The Electro Rent IoT tracker reads the location of any lost or stolen equipment using three different methods, selecting the best one at any given time based on the user's location. The device reads the location of test and measurement equipment using: GPS satellites with an accuracy of 5 to 10 meters; the location associated with any nearby Wi-Fi HubSpot or router with an accuracy of 5 to 20 meters; or a cellular network with an accuracy of 100 meters. Thanks to an integrated accelerometer, an activation alarm function on the IoT tracker allows for easy monitoring after any movement event. Users can view and track team movement routes on a map using their online LEO cloud account.
The technology also allows users to locate equipment using filters by warehouse, category, model, and date. In addition to equipment location and tracking, Electro Rent's IoT tracker offers many additional advantages, most notably the potential to optimize the valuable time of field service engineers. Companies can also use the device to identify both highly utilized and underutilized equipment, optimizing its use or creating opportunities for investment or disposal at the right time. It can also assist with insurance claims when equipment is lost. IoT data can be accessed via our Software as a Service (SaaS) from anywhere in the world through the user's LEO online account in the cloud. No local software installation or readers in warehouses or vans are required. The SaaS incorporates the latest OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project) cybersecurity standards via a web browser, thus eliminating the need for internal integration or IT costs.
