The MTM5400 is the first radio to benefit from a powerful new platform developed by Motorola that includes advanced capabilities—such as TETRA Enhanced Data Service (TEDS) and advanced local area networking capabilities—and enables cutting-edge over-the-air programming for more efficient management.
The MTM5400 offers extended coverage, improved audio performance, and high-speed data connectivity. These features help manage workloads and group communications, which are essential for mission-critical operations. Mission-critical personnel can benefit from the higher data rates provided by the integrated TEDS capability, which offers a 20x or greater increase in data throughput to central systems and remote databases, resulting in faster communications, information access, and data sharing. The radio also includes an integrated gateway-repeater function and 10W of transmit power to ensure reliable communications at all times, regardless of coverage availability.
Designed to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency and terminal management, the MTM5400 is particularly beneficial for organizations with a large radio base. It can be programmed over the air—a cutting-edge feature that is also a first in the TETRA market—improving terminal management efficiency and staff productivity. It significantly reduces the need to return radios to designated locations for programming, maximizing operational efficiency and substantially lowering equipment maintenance costs. Another advanced feature is the radio's ability to remain fully operational during programming, eliminating downtime spent reprogramming radios.
Key features of the MTM5400 include:
• Faster data access with easy software upgrades for TEDS high-speed data connectivity
• 10W transmit power and industry-leading receiver sensitivity for extended coverage
• Gateway-repeater capability for DMO (Direct Mode Operations)
• The ability to manage and program terminals over the air, keeping radios operational during programming and helping to reduce operating and maintenance costs.
