The BLE112 is a single-mode Bluetooth 4.0 module, compatible with both master and slave modes, allowing up to eight connections. It also features a USB CDC interface for operating system communications. The BLE112 includes BlueGiga's Bluetooth Smart software, enabling developers to create their own embedded applications using BlueGiga's BGScript™ encryption language, eliminating the need for an external host. Alternatively, a host application can interface with the BLE112 via the operating system-independent BGAPI™ software, also included in the Bluetooth Smart software.
The adapter is easy to use and ideal for low-power Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It is compatible with various operating systems, including Windows®, Android, iOS, and Linux.
Additionally, it can be used with Raspberry Pi boards, including the new Raspberry Pi B+ model. RS has introduced several wireless modules for the Raspberry Pi in recent months, including the SparqEE 3G cellular board, Edimax Wi-Fi® adapters and low-power radio solutions, 868 MHz / 434 MHz.
