The platform offers Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and IEEE 1588v2 synchronization protocols and the quality of service required to deliver high-level granularity, enabling network sharing and multiple service offerings. Its exceptional flexibility makes it ideal for a wide range of applications, including public safety, enterprise, wireless carriers, and Internet service provider (WISP) installations.
The PTP 820C features dual-core functionality, enabling the system to operate at up to 2 Gbps through software updates. This eliminates the need for future incremental upgrades or system overhauls by the network operator to deliver gigabit-plus capacity. With industry-leading system gain and dual-core operation, the PTP 820C allows for smaller antennas and greater availability of the capacity customers demand.
The PTP 820 is available in several configurations to suit network operator deployment requirements:
• PTP 820S: All external, single-core with up to 1 Gbps capacity
• PTP 820C: All external, dual-core with up to 2 Gbps capacity
• PTP 820G: Split and all internal, with up to 2 Gbps capacity
Key features include:
• Frequencies: 6 to 42 GHz supporting ANSI and ETSI standards
• Modulation: QPSK up to 2048 QAM with error-free Adaptive Coding & Modulation
• Channel sizes: up to 80 MHz channel width
• Hybrid and all-IP solutions supporting legacy services and evolution to all-IP networks
• Integrated Ethernet switch with carrier Ethernet v2.0 MEF
• Integrated synchronization solution: SyncE/IEEE1588v2
The PTP 820 platform will be available for shipment in late November 2014 through Cambium Networks' global distribution network.
