This starter kit contains sensors and peripherals used to demonstrate many of the low-power and wireless capabilities of the EZR32 Wireless MCUs.

The SLWSTK62xxx EZR32 Wireless kit, available from Mouser Electronics, provides all the necessary tools for developing a wireless application using Silicon Labs' EZR32 Wireless MCU family. Each kit includes two WSTK evaluation boards featuring either an EZR32LG or EZR32WG Wireless MCU based on an ARM Cortex M3 or M4 core. Each MCU has 256 KB of Flash memory, 32 KB of RAM, and a comprehensive set of peripherals. These wireless MCUs also feature an on-chip 802.15.4g transceiver supporting the 142 MHz to 1050 MHz frequency range with up to 20 dBm of output power. An AES accelerator supports AES encryption and decryption with 128-bit or 256-bit keys. The EZR32 MCU supports ultra-low power sleep modes and low transmit and receive currents, targeting low-power battery-powered applications.

EZR32 wireless starter kits include a motherboard and a radio board. The radio board has a Micro USB B connector for system connectivity and an SMA connector for use with an external antenna. The board also has a 33mF backup capacitor to power the EZR32 MCU while in 400nA backup mode for eight hours or more, maintaining backup content logs and powering the backup real-time counter. The motherboard includes an industry-standard J-Link debugger, with all features available via Ethernet or USB. The motherboard also includes a 128x128 ultra-low-power LCD screen, two pushbuttons, two LEDs for user interactivity, and a Silicon Labs Si7021 relative humidity and temperature sensor. Silicon Labs' Advanced Energy Monitoring (AEM) software provides real-time graphing and analysis of the EZR32's power usage. The kit can be powered by the integrated Silicon Labs AEM regulator, via the radio board's USB connector, a CR2032 coin cell battery, or an external power supply.
