The second-generation MAGICSTRAP module measures just 1.6 mm x 1.0 mm x 0.25 mm; its thickness has been reduced by more than half and its volume by 89% compared to the first generation.
The new modules combine the latest ceramic materials with advanced inductive coupling technology to produce a durable, stable, and easy-to-mount module. Each module comprises an LTCC (low-temperature co-fired ceramic) substrate, an RF integrated circuit, and the encapsulation. It includes 10 kV ESD protection.
MAGICSTRAP modules operate in the 860-960 MHz band and can be read at distances up to 5 m. They comply with EPC Globel Class 1 Gen 2.
