In addition to LTE-Advanced support, the MT8821C is an all-in-one device that functions as a network simulator for LTE, W-CDMA/HSPA, GSM/GPRS/EGPRS,
TD-SCDMA/HSPA and CDMA2000® 1X/1x EVDO technologies for TRX RF testing according to 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards, as well as parametric testing.
The MT8821C is easy to use and makes adjustment and operating errors a thing of the past, simplifying setup by using pre-set measurement parameters for test items specified by the 3GPP RF standards. Furthermore, parameters can be set for all tests and easily changed using the new, highly advanced Graphical User Interface, which includes a touchscreen. An advanced parameter search function allows the user to quickly and reliably configure complex test settings, and PASS/FAIL evaluation of results, measured according to test specifications, speeds up testing, increasing cost efficiencies.
The MT8821C offers additional functional testing capabilities, such as maximum capacity testing. With eight transmitter ports and two receiver ports, a single system will perform LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation (CA) with up to three component carriers (CC) using 2x2 MIMO. It will also support the future four-component-carrier (CC) configuration using 2x2 MIMO expected from the 3GPP standard. A built-in RF combiner simplifies the setup of complex test environments for LTE-Advanced CA, while also reducing calibration procedures.
The MT8821C is the successor to the award-winning MT8820C, used worldwide by UE and 2G/3G and LTE circuit developers. It offers enhanced functionality, deeper platform integration, and an updated user interface. Its backward compatibility with the MT8820C maximizes the value of previous investments and reduces the cost of setting up automated test environments when migrating to the MT8821C.
