Two models, covering frequencies from 40 MHz to 4 GHz and 150 kHz to 6 GHz, are powered and controlled by a user-supplied computer for simple and inexpensive testing of cables, antennas, and other passive RF devices when single-port measurements up to 6 GHz are required.

To maximize performance in manufacturing, engineering, and education environments, a single computer connected to a USB hub with a sufficient number of ports can operate up to 16 different ShockLine MS46121A vector network analyzers. Sweeps can be performed at 100 microseconds per point, and the MS46121As have a corrected directivity of 42 dB, giving engineers greater confidence in their measurements. The wide dynamic range and multiple IF bandwidths optimize settings to shorten measurement times and maximize throughput.

The MS46121A series is controlled by the powerful ShockLine software, which provides the tools and graphical user interface for easy debugging and testing of single-port RF devices. It also offers remote programming capabilities, allowing the ShockLine MS46121A series to be easily integrated into production applications.

Anritsu has developed two MS46121A models to meet specific measurement requirements. The USB vector network analyzer for frequencies from 40 MHz to 4 GHz is well-suited for testing base station antennas where limited frequency bands are required. The model with a wider frequency range, covering 150 kHz to 6 GHz, is designed for testing cell phone antennas and other devices that need to transmit and receive across multiple frequency bands.

With the introduction of the MS46121A vector network analyzers, the ShockLine family now comprises five series, all offering an unprecedented balance of value and performance for cost-sensitive engineering and production environments. The other ShockLine series include the fully reversible, low-cost MS46122A 2-port vector network analyzer; the MS46522A 2-port series for frequencies from 50 kHz to 4.5/8.5 GHz; the Economy ShockLine MS46322A 2-port analyzer for measurements up to 40 GHz; and the MS46524A 4-port series for differential and multiport device testing.
