The new software allows operators to deploy FTTx broadband in the residential services market to ensure that subscribers get the performance (upload and download speeds) they expect, based on results obtained directly from test devices used by field technicians.
Speedtest, powered by Ookla's performance testing and analysis software, has been directly integrated into the MaxTester 635G testing solution, part of EXFO's broader portfolio of test orchestration and real-time 3D analytics solutions for service providers, network equipment manufacturers, and web-scale companies. Speedtest technology measures true TCP throughput over G.fast/DSL or the customer's Ethernet circuit, using the industry gold standard for internet connection speed testing. Service providers can now obtain more consistent results, more efficiently, with a single tool that integrates physical, service, and performance testing. The handheld MAX-635G allows technicians to perform a Speedtest anywhere in the FTTH network (DPU/DSLAM, NID, ONT) and test internet upload and download speeds to locally distributed Speedtest servers.

In addition to Speedtest Powered, the EXFO MaxTester 635G helps service providers reliably install, power up, and maintain G.fast, VDSL2-35b, VDSL2-, and ADSL2+ deployments and verify subscriber data speeds up to 1 Gbit/s. It offers multi-service testing with copper fault detection capabilities and touchscreen navigation. The MaxTester 635G also provides superior field data and asset management support using EXFO Sync and EXFO Connect, mobile and cloud-based solutions.
