The new Agilent InfiniiVision X-Series 3000 oscilloscopes represent a leap forward in performance while maintaining a more affordable price, offering bandwidths from 100 to 500 MHz and industry-leading waveform refresh rates of 1,000,000 waveforms per second. Options include a 16-channel MSO, an integrated function generator, and a hardware-accelerated serial protocol decoder.
Electronic design and testing teams in nearly every industry, including computing, communications, semiconductors, aerospace/defense, automotive, and wireless communications, continue to manufacture increasingly sophisticated hardware. Engineers and technicians use oscilloscopes as their primary tool for testing and debugging these designs. Furthermore, educators need industrial-grade oscilloscopes at an affordable price to help prepare the next generation of engineers for success.
At the heart of the InfiniiVision X Series oscilloscopes is an Agilent-designed 90nm CMOS ASIC with 6M gates and built-in memory. This MegaZoom IV single-chip architecture enables industry-leading waveform refresh rates, as well as responsive deep memory and integrated logic analyzer, function generator, and protocol analyzer functionality, giving engineers and educators high-end oscilloscope performance at affordable prices.
“Thanks to our strong technological capabilities, Agilent is uniquely positioned to implement cutting-edge technology that addresses customer challenges,” said Jay Alexander, Vice President and General Manager of Agilent’s oscilloscope business. “With the InfiniiVision X-Series 2000 and 3000, we’ve focused on providing industry-leading signal visualization features and added options for an integrated waveform generator, in addition to bringing our MSO technology to the more affordable oscilloscope segment for the first time.”.
Agilent InfiniiVision X-Series oscilloscopes offer compelling advantages for engineers and technicians:
- View more signal detail for longer periods: InfiniiVision X-Series models deliver best-in-class refresh rates (up to 1,000,000 waveforms per second) with MegaZoom IV technology, which also minimizes dead time and maintains responsiveness with deep memory enabled. All InfiniiVision X-Series models are equipped with an 8.5-inch WVGA display, offering twice the viewing area of other commonly used oscilloscopes. Despite this, they weigh less than 4 kg and take up minimal bench space thanks to their compact dimensions of approximately 38 cm wide and less than 15 cm deep.
-Go much further with the power of four instruments in one: In addition to delivering best-in-class performance, InfiniiVision X-Series oscilloscopes offer optional integrated MSO capability for time-aligned analog and digital signal visualization, an optional integrated WaveGen function generator, and hardware-accelerated serial protocol analysis (X-Series 3000 models only).
-Benefit from greater investment protection with upgrade options: The InfiniiVision X-Series is the only fully upgradeable oscilloscope (including bandwidth) in its class, so engineers and technicians can purchase what they need today and expand capabilities as their performance requirements evolve. Optional measurement software packages allow for expanded functionality, either at the time of purchase or as the need arises:
- Segmented memory for laser pulse, radar burst, and serial packet analysis;
- Hardware-accelerated mask testing for rapid pass/fail analysis using known, correct waveforms; and
- hardware-accelerated serial triggering and decoding for I2C, SPI, CAN, LIN, I2S, RS-232 and other UARTs (available only on the InfiniiVision X Series 3000 model).
“Oscilloscopes are a core product category for Agilent,” said Ron Nersesian, president of Agilent’s Electronic Measurement Group. “The addition of the InfiniiVision X-Series 2000 and 3000 oscilloscopes to our portfolio, which also includes the industry-leading Infiniium line of high-performance oscilloscopes with true analog bandwidth up to 32 GHz, demonstrates our ongoing commitment to growing the business.”.
