“Adding advanced testing capabilities to Keysight’s channel and network emulation solutions allows the ecosystem using MIMO and massive MIMO technologies to accelerate its rollout to high-performance 4G and 5G devices,” said Kailash Narayanan, Keysight vice president and general manager of Keysight’s wireless testing group. “Keysight’s system, which includes multi-sensor 3D anechoic chambers, enables the optimization of 5G device performance across the entire protocol layer in an FR2 OTA environment.”
Keysight's Advanced Performance Testing Toolkit, part of its 5G device testing solutions, offers the following features:
• It utilizes common tools for channel logging, analysis, and modeling to accelerate testing across the entire MIMO OTA measurement environment.
• It enables device and chipset manufacturers, as well as mobile operators and test houses, to validate beam management, MIMO antenna performance, and maximum throughput of a 5G device across various massive MIMO configurations and special 3D fading conditions.
• It provides users with access to geometric channel models with numerous fading options, in addition to the use cases specified by 3GPP for FR1 and FR2.
• It verifies device behavior by stressing its design in a 3D OTA environment using multi-beam technology and multiple angles of arrival (AoA), creating accurate and realistic conditions.
*MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) – is an antenna technology for wireless communications in which multiple antennas are used for both transmission and reception.
