The new option adds eight digital lines to the three multipurpose I/O lines that come standard with each unit, increasing the total number of digital input channels to 11. The enhanced digitizers simultaneously acquire eight analog and 11 digital signals synchronously, with easy access to all 19 channels via the front panel BNC connectors (see Figure 1). The units come complete with the software and all the necessary tools for integration into virtually any test system, including mechatronics, robotics, vibration studies, control systems, data bus analysis, automation, motion control, and more.

Spectrum Digitizer-2-wControl and access to the data collected by the NETBOX digitizer is achieved by connecting it via Gigabit Ethernet to a host computer (e.g., a laptop or workstation) or anywhere on the corporate network. This enables easy remote control, and because the units are fully programmable, they are ideal for most automated testing applications. DigitizerNETBOX is LXI compliant (following the Core 2011 specifications) and offers an IVI-compatible interface for the IVI Scope and IVI Digitizer classes.
Spectrum's SBench 6 Professional software comes standard with the products. This program allows users to control all hardware modes and settings through a simple and user-friendly interface. The software also has a number of built-in features for data analysis and documentation. These include FFT analysis, analog and digital waveform display modes, XY display, a function interpreter, parameter measurements, export to ASCII, Wave, MATLAB, comment functions (for annotating signals or displays), and even a report and print function.

The analog input channels of digitizerNETBOX products provide software-selectable, unipolar, and differential input modes. Each channel has its own independent ADC and amplifier. The amplifiers have selectable input impedances (50 ohms and 1 MOhm) with calibrated gain ranges from ±200 mV to ±10 V full scale. Variable gain allows input signals to be scaled to cover the ADC's full dynamic range, thus maintaining the best possible measurement accuracy. All channels are synchronized to minimize phase error and enable precise cross-channel measurements. Large onboard memories also allow for the acquisition and storage of even the longest and most complex waveforms.
The units include various intelligent triggering capabilities and acquisition modes. Triggering problematic signals (such as faults, spikes, bursts, or even specific logic patterns) allows recorded waveforms to be stored in memory as efficiently as possible. Transient capture, multiple recording (burst), controlled sampling, ABA sampling, and data transmission (FIFO) modes are supported.

For Mixed-Mode Testing and Programming:
When using the DN2.59x-08-Dig option, digital data is stored within the 16-bit analog samples by reducing the resolution of one channel. This enables phase synchronization of the analog and digital signals, as the one-bit digital signals are placed within the higher-order bits of the analog waveforms. For example, if eight digital channels are used, the resolution of the analog channels would be reduced from 16 to 14 bits, and two of the digital signals would be added to each analog channel of the digitizer.
Software drivers allow custom configurations that can generate perfectly matched mixed-mode solutions (see Figure 2). The option is fully compatible with the complete Software Development Kit (SDK), which includes programming using C++, C#, VB.NET, Python, Java, LabVIEW, or MATLAB. The SDK is included with every unit. Spectrum's own software, SBench 6, also supports most of the option's functionality.

Four different digitizer models.
The new DN2.59x-08-Dig option can be ordered for these 8-channel NETBOX digitizer products: DN2.591-08 (5 MS/s), DN2.592-08 (20 MS/s), DN2.593-08 (40 MS/s), and DN2.596-08 (80/125 MS/s). These digitizers are available for immediate delivery and come with a full 5-year product warranty as standard.
