The VXT, which offers faster measurements and complex software, has been expressly designed to accelerate solution creation and performance in manufacturing testing of wireless components and devices for the “Internet of Things” (IoT).
System developers can easily create test solutions for power amplifiers (PAs) and front-end modules (FEMs) using the VXT's out-of-the-box software and FPGA-accelerated measurements. To reduce programming time, Keysight provides an open-source PA reference solution that includes tested system configurations and sample software routines for PA and FEM testing. These capabilities accelerate data acquisition and reduce effort compared to general-purpose alternatives.
To accelerate testing performance, the VXT includes features such as real-time FFT, enabling high-speed measurements of signal strength and adjacent channel relative power (ACPR). For faster automated testing, an integrated servo routine quickly performs an optimized and precise final setup for PA output levels.
“As a specialized yet adaptable tool, the VXT transceiver helps test engineers reduce time, compress testing, and get closer to the finish line,” said Nana Amoa, director of product marketing for Keysight’s Communications Measurement Solutions Division. “The VXT also offers a significant business benefit, as manufacturers can easily add more capacity to existing facilities and quickly scale up rather than build or acquire new ones.”.
Up to four VXT modules can be installed in a single 18-slot PXI chassis. System developers can also create versatile single-chassis solutions that include a VXT combined with Keysight DIO cards and their award-winning single-slot PXI vector network analyzer. VXT calibration is guaranteed because it is a fully integrated instrument module.
The VXT covers frequencies from 60 MHz to 6 GHz and provides 160 MHz of I/Q bandwidth for vector signal generation and analysis. With a maximum output power of +18 dBm, the vector signal generator can compensate for signal losses using switching matrices.
