The integrated high-gain antenna not only provides connectivity to stations located at greater distances but also improves performance in noisy environments. The small size of the integrated antenna, along with its narrow-area coverage and high gain, makes it particularly suitable for deployment on lighting and signage poles. The e502S modules can also be relocated in sector clusters to meet the demands of large crowds, such as in sports stadiums, concert venues, special events, and other public areas with high user density. The e502S complements the 120° coverage offered by the e501S and the 360° omnidirectional coverage of the e500, thus providing a complete range of Wi-Fi coverage solutions.
The e500 series of outdoor Wi-Fi access points includes an auxiliary port that provides Power over Ethernet and data connectivity, offering a wide range of deployment options. Network operators often connect a CCTV camera to the auxiliary port to enhance security and protection. If the e500 is deployed in a remote location, the network operator can use Cambium Networks' fixed point-to-point or point-to-multipoint wireless networking solutions to provide integrated backhaul via the auxiliary port.
As with all cnPilot access points, the new e502S is managed by Cambium's cnMaestro™ management system, which offers management services and controllers available in the cloud and on-premises configurations. cnMaestro also includes a Managed Service Provider (MSP) optimized configuration that allows the MSP to effectively manage independent private networks within a single management platform, resulting in operational efficiency and greater control.
cnPilot™ e502S Outdoor WiFi Access Point
Cambium Networks has announced the cnPilot e502S outdoor wireless access point, an 802.11ac outdoor access point. Meeting the unique coverage and density requirements of outdoor connectivity applications, the e502S operates in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and offers superior coverage in confined areas, as well as acoustic isolation with its 30° beamwidth.
