The dramatic increase in mobile devices with internet access, such as tablets and smartphones, has driven up the demand for Wi-Fi systems in urban areas. Public transportation is one of the environments where these systems can play a particularly important role. In Spain, they are already used by Madrid's Municipal Transport Company (EMT) buses, the 516 intercity bus line, and will soon be implemented on RENFE trains. The high number of people consuming bandwidth in these environments will require reliable and adaptive systems, and in this regard, Ruckus Wireless recommends intelligent Wi-Fi systems, such as access points with ChannelFly technology.

There are numerous aspects that a clock tree must consider regarding the radio cards of fourth-generation WiMAX or LTE (Long-Term Evolution) wireless base stations. In addition to the restrictions imposed by the OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing) protocols themselves, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and digital-to-analog converters (DACs), as well as RF mixers, present serious overlap and filtering problems. This article focuses on the challenges related to modulation elements.
