The entire system is housed within a separate 300 mm cabinet and includes an integrated intelligent controller and active fans. The fans move hot exhaust air from the rack-mounted equipment through an air-to-water heat exchanger and transfer the heat to a water circuit before recirculating the cooled air to the front of the equipment. The SCHROFF InRow cooler can improve cooling efficiency compared to Computer Air Conditioning (CRAC) system designs when deployed under optimal operating conditions.

The SCHROFF rear-door water heat exchanger offers a high-density rack-level cooling capacity of up to 40kW when connected to a chilled water inlet temperature of 20°C/68°F. Cooling performance of up to 55kW per rack is possible with a reduced inlet temperature and optimized operating conditions. The entire system is available in multiple dimensions and also in a perforated door configuration with an aesthetically pleasing frame and protective covers for the liquid source and the rack-mounted equipment's cooling circuit. The ducting system exhausts the hot air generated by the rack-mounted equipment's fans through a large cooling coil surface before recirculating it into the room. The design of the rack-mounted equipment's cooling unit and the rear of the rack are completely unobstructed for cabling and power distribution. All nVent cooling units feature an intelligent controller interface to maximize operating efficiency. Optimized local displays facilitate easy maintenance and Modbus/Ethernet interfaces enable remote management of cooling devices.
