Heating elements for enclosures are the ideal tool for preventing condensation in control cabinets. By heating the air inside the cabinet, temperature fluctuations are avoided, maintaining a constant relative humidity. This protects electrical and electronic components from harmful condensation, preventing potential short circuits.
STEGO presents its new heating element with an innovative heating body: the Loop element. Five series with the new profile are being launched: the LPS 164 and LTS 064 series are based on the compact Loop profile and offer heating power between 10 and 50 W, while the LT 065, LTF 065, and LP 165 series, with the larger Loop profile, are available in heating capacities from 50 to 150 W.

Loop Style: A New Design for the Heating Body.
The most striking product and design feature of the compact convection heaters is the innovative aluminum profile strip that forms part of their heating body and, in fact, gives them their English name: Loop, due to its shape resembling a figure eight and thus also the infinity symbol.
This profile is extremely efficient at absorbing heat from the PTC heating elements, meaning users benefit from uniform and improved heat distribution within their control cabinet.

Safe and easy to use.
All Loop heaters feature a clip for quick attachment to a 35 mm DIN rail. The push-in terminal block design reduces installation time by up to 50%. Wires with rigid wire and terminals can be connected quickly and without tools. The terminal blocks exert constant pressure on the wires, providing added safety, for example, when transporting pre-assembled control cabinets. This eliminates concerns about connecting wires coming loose during operation. The Loop LTF 065 series of heating elements, with its integrated, tamper-proof thermostat, offers additional cost savings, as a separate thermostat is not required for control purposes. The LTS 064, LT 065, and LTF 065 series are designed to be touch-safe. The insulated, light gray plastic housing keeps the surface temperature below 80 °C, protecting operators and maintenance personnel from burns in case of accidental contact. STEGO products have been approved and obtained safety certificates independently by globally recognized testing institutes such as VDE, UL and EAC.

Shock and vibration resistant

Loop heating elements have been certified as shock and vibration resistant. The innovative Loop profile allows for a completely new assembly method: instead of being pressed together, the body and heating element are firmly bonded by the suspension action of the new profile. The elastic properties of the aluminum profile are used to maintain high force on the heating elements at all times, even during temperature changes during operation, guaranteeing consistent heating power throughout the element's lifespan. The effort invested in this new design has paid off: the touch-safe Loop resistors, LT 065, LTF 065 and LTS 064 series, have been successfully approved as shock and vibration resistant, in accordance with DIN EN 60068-2-27:2010-02 and DIN EN 60068-2-64:2009-04, in relation to DIN EN IEC 61373:2011-04, cat. 1 B. The aforementioned approvals demonstrate that they are suitable for situations exposed to strong vibration impacts such as railway and mobile applications or in wind power applications.
