A new version of the M+ connectors has just been announced for depths of up to 7000 meters with pressure resistance up to 700 bar / 4350 Psi in both open and coupled connectors, available in size 10, and soon in size 14 in early 2020. SOURIAU has developed them to meet the changing requirements of ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles), AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicles), and UUVs (Unmanned Underwater Vehicles), the latter two being from the underwater robot market.
SWIM Range
: SOURIAU's SWIM cable harnesses offer reliable solutions for depths up to 300 meters. The design of these connectors is their versatility: the plug screws into the receptacle to connect both parts, and two O-rings on the connection interface ensure a watertight seal even at low pressure. This seal is achieved through compression, not pressure, which distinguishes the SWIM range from other similar products on the market. SWIM connectors are made of thermoplastic material, making them lightweight and watertight. They are resistant to corrosion and UV exposure, and do not suffer from cathodic exfoliation, ensuring a long service life in marine environments. The screw-on connection and coded contacts facilitate a simple, no-obligation connection of the plug to the receptacle, regardless of the number of contacts.
The SWIM range perfectly meets the needs of ocean-based surface drones used in oceanographic missions, oil exploration, and military applications such as maritime surveillance. Furthermore, they also meet the needs of meteorological-oceanographic buoys, remotely controlled underwater observation robots and a wide variety of marine equipment integration sensors such as hydrophones, temperature sensors, salinity sensors, etc., and electronic devices.
