Solutions for Industrial Communication:
With the ETHERLINE® T1 product family, LAPP offers prototype single-pair Ethernet cables for use in industrial machinery and systems. Single-pair Ethernet cables enable more consistent and efficient industrial Ethernet networks where only one pair of conductors is needed to transmit data. LAPP's first single-pair Ethernet cable is now available. As part of its launch, LAPP is introducing the new ETHERLINE® T1 Y Flex 1x2x22/7 AWG. This is a UL-certified, 2-conductor data cable for high-speed transmissions. This cable maintains high data transmission speeds while significantly reducing the required configuration. Thanks to its tight bend radii and small outer diameter, it is very lightweight, space-saving, and easy to install, making it ideal for field connections.
The new Power-Over-Data-Line (POD) compatible cable complies with the IEEE 802.3bu standard and is specifically designed for transmitting digital signals in the frequency range up to 600 MHz over distances of up to 40 m. It allows for the simultaneous delivery of power and data to SPE terminals with low power consumption (up to 50 W). The SPE cable design ensures ideal protection against electromagnetic interference, thanks to its double shielding of aluminum foil and copper braid with a high degree of coverage (SF/UTP). Furthermore, the outer PVC jacket is resistant to acids and alkalis and partially resistant to oils.
The UL/CSA certification allows the product to be used in North America.
In addition, the product launch includes ETHERLINE® FD Cat.6 flexible patch cables for continuous-motion applications in cable carriers. These patch cables are assembled with M12X connectors and enable fast data exchange of up to 10 Gbit/s over distances of up to 60 m using Cat.6 Ethernet. They feature optimal protection against electromagnetic interference thanks to a laminated aluminum foil and copper braiding. A cross-sectional spacer is used to protect the conductor pairs, allowing for maximum mechanical stress. The connector also features integrated vibration protection.
Another new product is the ETHERLINE® CABINET CAT.6A for control cabinets in PROFINET networks. Thanks to their small bend radii, Cat.6A patch cables are particularly useful in confined spaces. They allow data exchange at speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s over distances of up to 60 m. These patch cables feature connectors on both ends, saving time and eliminating the possibility of errors during on-site assembly. The RJ45 connector is exceptionally narrow, making these patch cables ideal for devices with very high port density. Thanks to UL/CSA certification, they are also approved for the North American market.
Solutions for industrial machinery and installations.
When cables are installed outdoors, they must also be UV resistant. LAPP now offers four PVC cables for low-frequency data and signal transmission with a black (BK) outer sheath. This makes them suitable for outdoor use in accordance with DIN EN ISO 4892-2.
For example, the classic UNITRONIC® LiYY data and signal transmission cable is now also available in black, UNITRONIC® LiYY BK. The compact design allows for small outer diameters despite the high number of cores. The fire behavior classification is defined according to EU Directive 305/2011 (BauPVO/CPR). This means that the new black UNITRONIC® can be used universally in machine interfaces for various low-frequency data and signal transmission applications. Examples include computer systems, electronic control and regulation devices, office machines, and scales. It is suitable for fixed installations or light mechanical stress and can be used in both dry and damp environments.
For outdoor applications, LAPP also offers the new UNITRONIC® LiYY (TP) BK twisted-pair cable. Thanks to its short twisted-pair (TP) lengths, the conductor circuits are well decoupled. The shielded UNITRONIC® LiYCY BK is also available. Its copper braiding provides excellent protection against capacitive interference from electric fields. It is complemented by the shielded version with UNITRONIC® LiYCY (TP) BK twisted pairs.
Another new product is the ÖLFLEX® PLUG 540 P. This is a pre-connectorized solution using the ÖLFLEX® 540 P cable, which is commonly used in the construction of electrical appliances and cabinets. The ready-to-use assembly saves installation time and features a cable with multiple certifications. It is suitable for various applications depending on the number of conductors, conductor cross-section, and connector type. The 3-conductor versions with IP44 protection are even suitable for outdoor use in Europe and can withstand exposure to rain.
The SILVYN® FPAD-M hose fitting, with its metric thread and liquid-tight design, is another new product. Cable strain relief is integrated into this fitting, which also remains reliably sealed thanks to a locking mechanism. The robust polyamide construction makes it more resistant to oil and provides increased mechanical strength. The SILVYN® FPAD-M is available in various metric sizes and two protection classes (IP 66 or IP 68) and can be optimally combined with SILVYN® FPAS and SILVYN® HCC protective tubing.
Finally, LAPP's product launch includes the SKINTOP® MS-M 40x1.5 PLUS cable gland for optimal cable assembly in a rectangular connector housing. Thanks to its M40 external thread, it can be screwed into a standard M40 housing. Due to the extended clamping range (27-35 mm), larger diameter cables (>28 mm) can now also be passed through. Costly special housings are no longer required. This is particularly advantageous for applications with limited space. The new cable gland provides sealing according to protection classes IP68 and IP69, withstands high mechanical and chemical loads, and is suitable for outdoor use.
