The 0.5 mm pitch system offers a robust locking system with a notch in the flexible data link for positive retention and zero insertion force on the pads. The solder tabs on the socket's metal armor provide a stable connection to the board.
Available in two standard lengths and cabling options, typical performance for the differential-pair flexible data link is up to 9.0 GHz (@ 7 dB insertion loss) for a 5-inch length and 4.14 GHz (@ 7 dB insertion loss) for a 10-inch length. The system supports the high-speed I/O protocol standards SAS, SATA, Fibre Channel, PCI, Ethernet, and InfiniBand.

 


The ZIF flexible data link and socket comply with the European RoHS environmental directive and are available in 20, 30, 40, and 50-position versions. Signal contacts on the top and ground contacts on the bottom optimize signal integrity and high-speed data transfer. The system can be easily modified for custom versions in terms of both pin count and length.
