“We’ve expanded our trunk cable line to offer even more options to enterprise network and data center managers when configuring the solution they truly need,” says Kirk Krahn, senior product manager at Leviton Network Solutions. “Professionals can rely on factory terminations to further accelerate deployment, as our trunk cables can reduce installation time by up to 80 percent.”
This line of backbone cables arrives at a time when data centers and office buildings are looking to limit the number of people on their premises due to the pandemic. This makes pre-terminated assemblies an excellent option, significantly reducing on-site deployment time compared to field-terminated alternatives.
The cables can be ordered in quantities of two to twelve, with multiple factory-terminated plug (jack and/or plug) configurations. They utilize Leviton's Atlas-X1™ and eXtreme™ plugs, which feature patented Retention Force Technology and help extend connector life by preventing damage from repeated connections.
Leviton has also introduced the following backbone cable constructions: eXtreme Cat 6 UTP, Atlas-X1 Cat 6A UTP, Atlas-X1 Cat 6A F/FTP, Atlas-X1 Cat 7 S/FTP, and Atlas-X1 Cat 8 S/FTP.
Thus, almost all of these trunk cables can be configured and manufactured in two weeks at the EMEA Data Centre Factory, located in Glenrothes (Scotland).
