“The new BUCHANAN WireMate connectors are easy to use, even for novice installers,” says Ryan Hill, product manager for TE’s industrial business unit. “The connectors mount onto a wall plate, and the wires are threaded through a hole in the wall. Then, simply strip the wires and insert them into the terminal block for a reliable termination without the need for a screwdriver or other tools.”.
There's a clear entry point for the cables, and removing them is just as easy, thanks to an innovative lever design that allows them to be released one at a time. The connector also features a flat surface for marking or color-coding the cables for quick and easy installation.
Buchanan WireMate connectors are available in 2 to 8 positions with 5 or 8 mm center lines. They are rated for 5 amps for 18 AWG wire or 3 amps for 20-24 AWG wire; all are rated for 250 V AC. The contacts are made of tinned copper alloy. The header connectors are injection-molded, high-temperature resistant, flame-retardant (UL94 V-0) liquid crystal plastic (LCP), and the housings are made of thermoplastic polyester (PBT).
