Due to its half-size design, the connector is ideal for small assemblies or more compact PCBs. Special attention was paid to the design to incorporate features that simplify cable assembly. The housing has three different cable entry options with pre-mounted caps, which can be easily broken off according to customer preference. Locking levers are integrated into the upper half of the housing cover, eliminating the need to purchase them separately. The pre-molded design offers the added benefit of handling fewer parts, thus reducing the risk of component loss. Secure and reliable cable crimping is achieved with a cable tie that secures the cable to the housing cover. Compatible crimp contacts are available in reels of 500 or 5,000 contacts for mass production or as individual contacts for repair and maintenance. Suitable crimping tools are available as hand tools, semi-automatic tools, or fully automatic tools, depending on the required quantities and level of automation.

The new DIN 41 612 type 2C/2R female crimp connectors can be used with straight or angled male connectors, as well as with back shrouds. The female connector housing can be secured with either screws or locking levers. The new connector offers the same robustness as its full-size counterparts.
