The hybrid connector's size has been reduced from 27 mm (1.062") to 23 mm (0.905"), and its height has been reduced from 30 mm (1.181") to 25.3 mm (0.996"). Utilizing the industry-standard A-Type panel cutout, it allows standard XLR connectors to be mounted using the same metalworking tools.
The expanded product portfolio includes the low-profile C-Type XLR connector in 6, 9, and 10-pole configurations. The combination of an XLR receptacle and a 6.35 mm (1/4") jack connector can be used for mono or stereo applications, with the option of stereo switching and a ground contact.
New products are available with vertical or horizontal gold-plated contacts for PCBs with chassis grounded from the front panel via mounting screws. The XLR receptacle is available with or without a latch (retaining spring).
Typical applications include microphone preamps, speakers, studio monitors, power amplifiers, and audio interface devices. The hybrid connector meets the growing demand for reduced PCB space.
