The new IDC-PCB terminal, with a total height of only 2.9 mm, eliminates manual wire preparation before termination. The IDC double contact provides a reliable and leak-proof connection to the wire conductor. This means that costly and unreliable manual soldering can be replaced, and no special tool is required for termination.
The overall dimensions (2.4 mm x 2.2 mm x 2.9 mm) and the required space on the printed circuit board are significantly smaller than other solutions. The termination cap provides strain relief and guides the conductor into position. Versions with a cable stop and versions for battery connection applications are also available. Despite the small dimensions, a maximum current rating of 5.5 A at 20 °C is specified. The new IDC-PCB terminals are available for AWG 24 conductor (solid wire) with a wire diameter of 0.5 mm and a cable diameter of 0.75 mm.
These new reliable IDC-PCB terminals are supplied in reel-type packaging with 5,000 units/reel for automated pick & place assembly.
