Designed to offer high terminal retention force, the Molex EON pin interface provides a firm and reliable connection even in environments exposed to high vibration and thermal cycling.
Molex's EON pin technology minimizes stress on the printed circuit board and component wear, eliminating solder residue and residue on the pins. PCB connectors with EON push-in pins reduce electrical short circuits and the formation of cold spots and gaps, while also resolving issues related to cracked solder joints. Rapid assembly contributes to optimal design flexibility, enabling solderless or hybrid processes that combine soldering and push-in techniques.
Molex uses a proprietary alloy material for consistent production of cost-effective, high-performance products based on EON technology, utilizing lead-free processes. The low insertion force minimizes damage to the printed circuit board during assembly, while the gas-tight seal reduces corrosion and ensures stable electrical contact under a wide range of conditions. Molex blades of varying widths (0.50 mm, 0.64 mm, and 1.50 mm) connect through holes in printed circuit boards (0.60 mm, 1.00 mm, and 1.45 mm, respectively).
Available in wire-to-board and board-to-board configurations, these single- and multi-bay connection solutions are fully scalable for EON-pin and multi-circuit applications. Product families featuring EON-pin terminations include Molex MX150™ and 154-circuit CMC connectors.
