The STRADA Mesa product design offers the market a stackable connector that delivers high-speed performance exceeding 15 Gbps. The design also provides three signal contact configuration options for the pins and socket – high-speed differential, high-density single termination, and RF/Coaxial – to suit diverse application requirements.
“The STRADA Mesa mezzanine connector is a fantastic product designed to better meet our customers’ needs for customization and system space,” said John Larkin, Product Manager for STRADA Mesa products at TE Connectivity. “We are extremely pleased to bring this practical, high-speed product to market.”
Stacking height options start at 8 mm and go up to 42 mm in 1 mm increments, making the connector ideal for high-speed differential architectures using PCBs arranged in a mezzanine application. This product solves power supply issues related to board stacking by using integrated power contacts, each capable of carrying 14 A of current.
The STRADA Mesa connector is available with eight pairs per column and in sizes one, two, and three, which, when fully loaded with differential pairs, provide 40, 80, and 120 pairs, respectively. The product design incorporates a detachable pin and socket interface, as well as a press-fit connection to the printed circuit board, making it ideal for connecting multiple connectors simultaneously. Other features include optional open space for airflow and optional guide systems for blind connections.
