Kona's contacts are arranged in a single row in 2, 3, and 4-contact versions. Their high current-carrying capacity means they require very little space on the printed circuit board and fewer contacts to supply power. The connection consists of a vertical male connector inserted into and secured to the board, and a female connector for wire that accepts 8AWG wire.
Harwin's innovative connect-before-lock mechanism prevents damage during the locking process, ensuring that the connecting elements are perfectly aligned beforehand. The coating on each contact and its fully polarized construction prevent incorrect connections. Kona connectors have a lifespan of 250 connection cycles. The use of stainless steel screws on the female connector simplifies installation. No tools are required, offering maximum user convenience. A contact indicator allows you to verify that the connector elements are correctly oriented.
With a maximum voltage of 3kV and an operating temperature range of -65°C to +150°C, Kona connectors are suitable for deployment in the most demanding application environments. These components can withstand vibration forces of 20G for 12 hours, and their 6-pin beryllium-copper contacts ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
