The H4 UTX connectors provide highly efficient power transfer with very low loss thanks to precision-machined contacts utilizing Amphenol Industrial's exclusive RADSOK® technology.
        
Amphenol H4 UTV connectors, available from Mouser Electronics, now feature a ratcheting press nut that prevents backlash once the nut is tightened. Other improvements include environmentally safe housings and retaining wire clips. The contacts can accept wire gauges from 14 AWG to 8 AWG (2.5 mm² to 10 mm²), providing higher current capacities and lower contact resistance than conventional solar connector solutions. Typical contact resistance is only 0.25 mΩ, resulting in extremely low power losses. The connectors connect quickly and easily with a locking mating system that provides an audible click to help ensure error-free installation. Amphenol Industrial's RADSOK technology ensures a high-contact, low-resistance connection by employing a network of approximately two dozen small contacts that run from the front to the back of the female contact. As the male contact is inserted, the membrane cleans the male contact while providing multiple solid connections, delivering high current flow with minimal voltage drop.
        
These H4 UTX connectors provide highly reliable connections and are highly resistant to the harsh environments found in solar power installations, including resistance to extreme heat, cold, water immersion, ozone, salt, abrasion, UV radiation, and sunlight.
        
The H4 UTX meets the three highest certification standards on the market, making it a solar connector suitable for global use. Certifications include EN50521 TUV 1500V-Class A (global), UL6703 1000V (Americas), and 1500V JET (Japan). The H4 UTX is fully compatible with all existing H4 FV connectors.
