The UTS standard range of all-plastic connectors for harsh environments is now available in a screw-contact version. This new product allows for easy, tool-free connection and offers high levels of protection against dust and water (IP68 and IP69K), as well as particularly fast connection times.Connecting UTS connectors with screw contacts requires no specialized knowledge or tools, as a simple screwdriver is all that's needed to insert the wires into the contacts. This makes them particularly suitable for field applications such as tunnel ventilation, video surveillance, traffic control and road signage,
parking detection systems, weather measurement systems, and more.
The UTS connector with screw contacts boasts the same IP68 or IP69K protection rating as the rest of the UTS range. This guarantees stable performance even when submerged at a depth of 10 meters and during high-pressure cleaning operations at 140 bar.
This watertight seal is even dynamic: specifically, this means it remains intact even when the cable is pulled in all directions. The material, a high-performance plastic, is highly resistant to shocks and vibrations and offers excellent temperature performance (from -40 °C to 105 °C). Furthermore, the UTS connectors with screw contacts are resistant to salt spray (500 hours) and UV rays, increasing their reliability in outdoor applications.
The UTS connectors with screw contacts are also fully interchangeable with the UTS crimp and solder versions. Likewise, a plug with crimp or solder contacts can be connected to a screw plug and vice versa. The UTS connector with screw contacts is also equipped with the particularly ergonomic locking mechanism of the “TRIM TRIO®” family: a 1/3-turn bayonet locking mechanism with a sensitive and audible click that ensures a correct connection. It is available in 4- and 7-contact versions with VDE 0110 certification (low-power supply and signal transmission without Ethernet protocol) and is rated for 250 operations.UTS is part of the TRIM TRIO® family. This is a unique, comprehensive family on the market, designed on a single modular basis. The sockets are common to all TRIM TRIO® connectors. Consequently, the contacts are also common.
