“Thanks to IO-Link, it is possible to design a new generation of industrial equipment that requires high levels of availability and scalability, as well as making extended use of diagnostics for preventive and corrective maintenance,” says Eric Gory, product manager at Molex, adding: “The new Brad® IO-Link family allows customers to benefit from the advantages of a modular and distributed architecture in applications where this was not previously possible.”

Designed primarily for manufacturers of industrial automation equipment, Brad HarshIO modules offer fast and reliable solutions for connecting industrial controllers to input/output devices in harsh environments. Featuring a dustproof, liquid-proof, and vibration-resistant housing compliant with IP67 standards, the compact Brad HarshIO IP67 Ethernet module is machine-mountable and requires no enclosure. The patented Ultra-Lock™ connection system, with its push-to-lock mechanism, enables quick, secure, and operator-independent electrical connections with IP67 protection.

The family includes IP67 PROFINET IO-Link master modules in a 60 mm form factor and IP67 IO-Link digital hubs. The PROFINET module consists of eight M12 ports, each combining an IO-Link master channel and a configurable digital input/output channel. The digital hubs are available in versions with 16 inputs or 12 inputs and 4 outputs.

The daisy-chain topology and integrated two-port switch with 100 Mbps full-duplex data transmission enable seamless connectivity without additional switches, while also reducing costs. The module's advanced functionality, including short-circuit protection, Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP), a web server, and easily visible diagnostic LEDs, is characterized by its user-friendliness and simple operation.
