Designed for use in harsh industrial environments, the module has an IK08 shock protection rating and allows for the simple and inexpensive integration of automation and PLC devices via an Ethernet connection to the wireless LAN; unlike the traditional system of deploying communications in industrial applications through antennas and routers.
By combining transceivers and a WLAN access point in a single device via two specially designed antennas with MIMO technology, the WLAN1100 module's design is seamlessly retrofitted. Furthermore, it saves space and installation time thanks to its single-hole mounting and the use of a Phoenix COMBICON connector with push-in technology and an RJ45 connector.
A high level of data protection can also be enabled, as the device is compatible with the highest current standards for IEEE 802.11i access points with AES encryption. Other features of the module include transparent protocol data transmission, low latency, configuration control, diagnostics, and connection via SNMP and AT commands, DHCP server and client operating modes, as well as wireless licenses for Europe and North America.
