The UNIGATE FALCON ECO series starts with variants for PROFINET and EtherCAT. By using ready-to-use DIN rail modules, the design time and time to market for individual automation solutions can be significantly optimized.
The UNIGATE FALCON ECO series of protocol converters integrates RS232/RS422/RS485 serial interfaces as standard. Transfer speeds of up to 6 MBaud are possible. Data transmission and reception on the active serial interface are indicated by an activity LED for initial setup or as a visual indicator. Serial protocols such as Modbus ASCII, Modbus RTU (master or slave), and an ASCII communication protocol are pre-installed.
Standard serial protocols can be easily configured via the UNIGATE FALCON web interface. Flexible programming using a Deutschmann Automation script allows for the implementation of other standard and proprietary protocols. Scripts can be created using the free PC software tool, Protocol Developer. Configuration of a PROFINET or EtherCAT interface is performed using the corresponding GSDML or ESI device description file.
The UNIGATE FALCON ECO series of protocol converters offers integrated service functions, accessible via a button on the front of the device. For example, a hardware reset or factory reset can be performed without the need for additional equipment.
The compact series of IP20-rated DIN rail modules measures 25 mm, 95 mm, and 86.5 mm (W x D x H) and can be directly integrated into existing end products. All modules for the different bus variants share an identical mechanical design and can therefore be used flexibly or replaced without additional effort.
