MicroBridge female connectors will be available with IDC and crimp terminations. The modular family comprises single- and double-row versions with 2 to 40 pins. The single-row IDC female connector is available with 90° and 180° cable exits, while the double-row version has a 180° cable exit. The male connector, designed for SMT, is available in both straight and angled versions, as well as single- and double-row configurations. Thanks to their modular design, the female connectors can be mated with their male counterparts that have the same number of pins, regardless of the termination method (IDC or crimp). The crimp contacts on the female connector housing feature primary and secondary interlocking, whereas with the IDC versions, the contacts are already mounted on the housing. The new enclosed crimp contact ensures greater reliability during processing. Thanks to its dual IDC termination and an additional release tab, the MicroBridge is ideal for meeting the demanding requirements of the harsh environments found in the automotive industry. Optional color and mechanical coding for each pin count facilitate assignment and prevent incorrect mating.
High-temperature resistance up to 150°C allows the connectors to be used in areas exposed to demanding temperature conditions, such as near LEDs in headlights. The current rating is specified according to the number of pins and the conductor cross-section, up to 8.5 A per contact, and the voltage rating is up to 70 VAC/DC. MicroBridge connectors are suitable for both manual and automated assembly.
