This allows you to use this technology to replace wear-prone connections and slip rings in industrial applications, while minimizing costly service interruptions.
Features:
Contactless, so there's no wear or maintenance.
Protocol-independent, zero-latency real-time Ethernet communication.
High power in a compact housing.
Flexible: High degree of installation freedom thanks to flexible proximity options.
All-around visible diagnostics with an LED ring on the housing.
Bit-oriented transmission with NearFi.
Real-time, protocol-independent near-field communication.
Real-time Ethernet.
The couplers transmit Ethernet data at speeds up to 100 Mbps (full duplex) in real time. At the same time, the couplers are completely protocol-transparent, meaning that all conventional Ethernet protocols can be used.
The device's rapid startup allows its use in applications requiring specific functions, such as "fast boot."
Near-field communication through the airspace requires no frequency planning or specialized wireless technology knowledge.
Inductive power transmission
Furthermore, couplers transmit power inductively and can therefore supply power to other end devices, such as I/O stations, switches, etc., without contact. A power of 50 W can be transmitted over a NearFi path.
By combining two NearFi paths, the power output can be increased to 100W with automatic current equalization. Additionally, there are app-specific features, such as
NearFi technology streaming in a video.
NearFi couplers resist dust and dirt.
Where conventional connection technology reaches its limits due to space and movement restrictions, vibrations, dust, dirt, rotation, and frequent contact, NearFi enables wear-free communication through an air gap of just a few centimeters. Furthermore, transmission through non-metallic materials such as glass, plastic, and wood is possible, opening up a wide range of application possibilities.
With robust IP65 housings and M12 connections for Ethernet and power, you can also use NearFi couplers in demanding environments.
Unlike standard connector solutions, NearFi couplers can be positioned facing each other from any direction and even rotated relative to one another. Furthermore, the couplers don't need to be positioned directly opposite each other; they can be offset or at a tangential angle.
The couplers can be mounted flexibly using the universal mounting options. They can be mounted via the mounting flange with M5 screws or via the internal thread with M6 screws.
Easy setup and diagnostics
In principle, two devices are always needed for transmission: a base coupler and a remote coupler. The couplers require no configuration and are as easy to use as a connector. Once the devices are optimally coupled, a signal is transmitted via an integrated alignment aid.
The wraparound visual signaling with bright LEDs indicates the operational availability of the docking link in all spatial directions.
Typical application areas of NearFi couplers
Robots in the car factory
Rotary table
Workpiece holders
Automated guided vehicle systems (AGVS)
In applications that require a lot of maintenance, such as tool changes on robots, you can easily replace wear-prone and maintenance-intensive connections with NearFi couplers, thereby minimizing downtime costs.
