Compatible with all M12 connectors, the converter connects to all our latest MAC® and ServoStep™ motors, as well as classic QuickStep® integrated stepper motors, regardless of configuration, thanks to its 5, 8, and 17-pin M12 connectors. MacTalk® is used for monitoring, configuring, and commissioning our integrated motors, as well as for programming our integrated PLC, ePLC™.
It is recommended that service personnel have a serial communication set. This will ensure a secure connection to the engine and allow for critical firmware updates. This is also recommended even if another communication protocol, such as Ethernet, is used as an alternative.
When connected to a PC's USB port, the converter is automatically detected and installed as a native COM port compatible with any existing serial communication application. Multiple converters can be installed when using USB hubs, allowing for easy setup of a multi-channel serial system.
Up to 32 devices can be connected to the same RS485 network. The maximum RS485 cable length is up to 1200 m. Note: If using a MAC® engine with plug-in modules (type no. "MAC00-xxxx"), a USB-to-RS232 converter is required.
