The new DBMM series is especially suited for applications where space and weight are critical, such as missile systems, military aircraft, and radar systems.

The robust DBMM connectors meet MIL-DTL-83513G performance specifications and allow designers a wider selection of contact arrangements compared to other military-spec connectors such as Micro-D or Sub-D. Contacts can be signal (LF), power (HP), and coaxial (HF), with hundreds of thousands of possible combinations. The development of the new DBMM series as part of Nicomatic's standard product line arose from numerous customer requests for custom interconnects based on the performance parameters of the DMM series.

The DBMM range, with its new back-housing design, is only 15 mm deep compared to the standard back-housing plus separate DMM connector, which is 35 mm deep in its smallest available combination. In addition to its ultra-compact form factor, the new DBMM range is extremely lightweight. Ease of handling is another advantage, especially important in critical hi-fi applications. The lower price of the DBMM range compared to DMM connectors with mono or split back-housing is another benefit.

Two models are currently available in the new DBMM series: the DBMM220 with 4 to 32 signal (LF), power (HP), or coaxial (HF) contacts, and the DBMM320 offering 6 to 48 contacts (LF), power (HP), or coaxial (HF). Both models are available for direct cable mounting in male or female orientations using D53B mounting screws.
