802.11ax, compared to previous generations, will be better balanced with nearly equivalent upload and download performance; 802.11ax will handle client density more efficiently through a new capacity-sharing channel; 802.11ax will improve battery life by using runtime scheduling to tell clients when to suspend operations to conserve power; and the efficiency improvements of 802.11ax will offer at least 4 times the performance of 802.11ac.

Initial installation using the new bracket takes less than a minute, and removal can be done in just a few seconds. Aerohive's AP650 and AP650X 802.11ax access points will be equipped with software-configurable dual 5 GHz radios, along with 802.3bz network connectivity. The AP650X will come with a wider temperature range and external antennas for industrial and hard-to-reach applications. All three Aerohive 802.11ax access points will have integrated BLE and USB connectivity for enhanced location services and the ability to provide additional wireless access options for IoT devices, among other features.
