It offers six Fast Ethernet ports instead of eleven, available for either twisted-pair cables (100BASE-TX) or equipped with two or four SFP transceivers (100BASE-FX). All ports support precision time synchronization according to IEEE 1588v2. Security mechanisms such as role-based access control provide protection against network attacks. Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP) and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) ensure good network availability. A switch model is also available that supports Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) and High Availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR), ensuring zero latency and high system throughput. Thanks to its robust design, the RSP-Smart can also be used in harsh environments, such as those found in machinery. The switch is also certified for applications in the electrical, transportation, and hazardous environments sectors.

Mounted on DIN rails, the switch complies with the IP30 protection standard and features a stainless steel housing measuring 90 (98) x 164 x 120 mm (EEC) (width x height x depth). Its operating temperature range is -40 °C to +70 °C. The supply voltage can be either 24/36/48 V DC or 110/250 V DC and 10/230 V AC.

The RSP-Smart can be quickly activated via plug-and-play. Configuration and diagnostics can be performed using HiDiscovery, IHV, or a web interface. An SD card can be used to store configuration data and retrieve it as needed, as well as to upgrade the operating system to previous or subsequent versions.

The switch status can be monitored locally using indicator contacts. Details can be viewed using a standard web browser. The integrated SNMP interface provides an additional centralized management function, enabling the deployment of network management software such as Industrial HiVision.
